Anderson wins Skip Barber National Championship
After a season long battle, Scott scored six wins to capture the 2011 Skip Barber National Championship - and the $2000,000 scholarship that goes with it as part of the Mazdaspeed Road to Indy development program. The Skip Barber championship has produced names such as Juan Montoya, Ryan Hunter-Reay and more recently, Spencer Pigot, Connor DePhillippi and Conor Daly.
Last December, Scott signed with Indianapolis, Ind. based Belardi Auto Racing for the 2012 season, joining a four-car effort with teammates Luca Forgeois, Roma Lagudi and Colin Thompson. In preparation for the season, Anderson participated in several private testing sessions before the team headed down to Florida for the annual USF2000 Cooper Tires Winterfest; a six-race mini championship run the first week in February.
The 2012 Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda kicked off March 13-16 at Sebring International Raceway for Rounds 1 and 2 of the season. Live timing and scoring will be available at www.usf2000.com.
